1897 Como Zoo is founded when the City of St. Paul receives a gift of three deer. A pasture is fenced for them in Como Park.
The Como Zoo is a great experience for any family. There is something there for all ages, and in the Como Park area are great family activities.

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory are open every day of the year.
Summer hours (April 1st - September 30th) are 10am-6pm
Winter hours (October 1st - March 31st) are 10am-4pm
Because Como Park Zoo and Conservatory remain open during inclement weather, some animals may be off display and some exhibits or gardens may be closed.

The Lake Superior Zoo. Duluth MN.
Located in the beautiful lakeside city of Duluth, and is one of only 180 zoo's and aquariums (out of more than 1800) in the United States to have achieved the ranking of an Accredited Institution of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA). It is one of three accredited zoos in Minnesota and the only one outside of the Greater Metro Area.
Nearly 150,000 people visit the Lake Superior Zoo annually. While they come from every state and at least twelve foreign countries, the majority are residents of Northern Minnesota. In addition to the large numbers of Arrowhead Region visitors, a significant block of visitors are from the Twin Cities and Southern Minnesota who weekend or vacation in our area.
