Extended Zoo Hours
The zoo will remain open until 7:30 p.m. Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
During Holiday Magic Brookfield Zoo remains open until 9:00 p.m. Indoor exhibits close at 8:30 p.m. (Tropic World closes at 7:30 p.m.).

To show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the men and women in the United States’ Armed Forces, the Chicago Zoological Society is offering free admission to Brookfield Zoo to all active military and reservist personnel. From now through December 31, 2005, qualified personnel who present a valid ID badge at one of the zoo’s admission booths will be admitted.

The animals in our care at Lincoln Park Zoo are, in a sense, the flagship for their kinsmen in the wild. So our long-term goal is to connect people with the animals they see in the zoo to the story of what’s going on with those animals in the wild. We can do this through conservation, science and education. In various field projects, for example, we’re learning more about how to protect those places where our animals come from.
People come to the zoo for many reasons: to see the animals, to walk the gardens, to people watch, and simply to enjoy the pleasant lakefront atmosphere. But we also strive to provide visitors with something more. If you took away conservation, science and education we would be left with just a menagerie. That’s not enough in today’s world. Some estimates place the number of animal and plant species listed as endangered every year at nearly 1,000.
We can’t afford the loss of any more.
Lincoln Park Zoo is open 365 days a year.
